Dorsch Gallery: April 2008
by Shabaka
Tomorrow evening is our next gallery night in Wynwood and Design District. Again, I apologize for the lateness in getting this published. The work of Elizabeth Condon, Amanda Burnham, and Grant Haffner. If you know nothing about your writer you should know that I really love works on paper. Amanda Burnham's works were like musical heaven (wherever that place might be). Elizabeth Condon's works had a very precise approach yet, they were done by the hands of a person that seems to love color. Not just color but, a sense of color that is striking yet pleasurable. Haffner's flatish paintings recalled the rolling midwest where driving through Indiana and Illinois allows one to see vast expanses of colored land against changing skies. It's not often anymore that people drive across the vast US landscape but, this could very well be part of that memorable trip.
