Artist Statement   Employing Old Masters as an extension of the self-portrait, my painting reminisces issues dressed in images of Western Art. At the center of the working process is my fixation with modifying reality to repair one’s origin. These very familiar images are glimpses of fact and fiction. I use clips from images used as teaching tools during my childhood. These paintings are autobiographical. They are a collective tale that is total, ambiguous, defined and abstract. The product of this regeneration portrays conflict as well as a method of opening and re-negotiating a new experience from the residuals of my memory.
