Broward Art Guild
Mission Statement...
The Broward Art Guild is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to encouraging and promoting working artists in Broward County and to providing the community with opportunities for involvement and education in the visual arts.
Organizational History . . .
The Broward Art Guild is the oldest and largest organization of working artists in Broward County. Formed in the late 1940s, originally as a branch of the American Artists Professional League, the Guild later evolved into an independent, not-for-profit organization.
During its first 30 years, the Guild operated with a volunteer staff of member artists and in 1986, engaged its first paid administrator. Since moving its gallery, school and offices to the downtown Fort Lauderdale area in 1987, the Guild has enjoyed an unprecedented growth in programs, membership and prestige.
The Guild's current 3,000 sq. ft. gallery and classroom facility is located at 530 N.E. 13th Street in Fort Lauderdale.
Funding for the Broward Art Guild is provided in part by the Broward County Board of County Commissioners, Broward Cultural Affairs Council, and Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau.
